The World Cafe invites groups of people, organisations, & communities to co-create a living network through meaningful dialogue that often leads to new insight, collective knowledge and action.
We are offering an introductory workshop of four 2.5 hour online sessions - for those who are curious to learn more about The World Cafe - what it is and how to host it well.
Specifically, you will learn:
-
What being a host means, and what goes into creating a hosting practice.
-
The origin story and evolution of the World Cafe pattern as it is used today
in a variety of contexts throughout the world -
The principles that create the foundation and structure
for diverse perspectives to be woven into new insight and intelligence -
First-hand experience of what it is like to participate in a World Cafe
-
The philosophical and social root systems providing the "Ground" for the World Cafe,
& wider eco-system of participatory practices
Who is it for?
This introductory workshop is for everyone working for social good: civil society organizations, school teachers, team managers in the public, non profit, or private sectors - or anyone wishing to call together the collective intelligence to bear on the challenges and opportunities of our times.
This is an opportunity to be in an experiential learning space with peers, who will bring their contexts and grounded experiences to create a rich learning field.
Co-Hosted by Amy Lenzo & Maria Scordialos
Amy Lenzo is a senior World Cafe host who believes that World Cafe offers a unique and beautiful way to meet in the field Rumi describes as "beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing", where we can connect with others authentically and intimately about what has heart and meaning for us.
A member of the World Cafe Stewardship Council, Amy is known for her pioneering work in bringing the World Café process and principles into an online environment for learning and engagement.
Maria Scordialos is a process artist, host and social entrepreneur, creating the conditions for individuals, teams and leaders to live their fullest potential. She offers her natural ability to see patterns, create structure and design processes so that new solutions and forms can be co-created.
