Program Structure
Using the structure of the World Cafe itself, this World Cafe Hosting Fundamentals course offers a carefully designed curriculum featuring written coursework in rotating small group forums and weekly real-time sessions.
Providing a solid understanding of the World Cafe theory and method, we will apply World Cafe design principles to bring forth the creative power of conversation and engage questions that matter.
Participants will gain a fundamental understanding of World Cafe hosting practices and the capacity to apply them in their own life and work.
The course is very interactive (requiring approx 4-6 hours a week) and students will be expected to participate fully.

- You will become familiar with the theory and philosophical basis of World Cafe.
- You will understand and be able to apply the seven World Cafe design principles and basic assumptions of the World Cafe.
- Participants will learn to generate powerful questions for different contexts.
- You'll understand and experience the processes, principles, and "ways of being" that call forth collective intelligence.
- Together, we will explore how the World Cafe can be applied in creative ways across sectors, cultures, demographics, and other specific contexts.
- You will be part of a public online Learning Cafe with others from the global World Cafe community.

THIS COURSE IS A SIGNATURE LEARNING PROGRAM OFFERED BY THE WORLD CAFE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION. IT IS THE ONLY OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED COURSE AVAILABLE ON WORLD CAFE HOSTING AND THE FIRST OFFERED EXCLUSIVELY TO A CHINESE AUDIENCE.
This rigorous, highly interactive course is designed for serious practitioners who are looking for a solid understanding of the World Café method and philosophy and want to work with peers, guided by senior practitioners, to learn how to host powerful and effective engagements using World Cafe.

DIRECTOR OF WORLD CAFE SIGNATURE LEARNING PROGRAMS
Amy Lenzo is a senior World Cafe host who believes that World Cafe offers a unique way to connect with others - authentically and intimately - about what has heart and meaning for us.
Having hosted World Cafes, online and onsite, since 2005, Amy went through rigorous training herself to be able to guide new hosts through this universally acclaimed course, which she recognizes as a life-changing opportunity to develop the capacity to host transformation and social change.
In her role as Director of the World Cafe Signature Learning Programs, Amy has hosted the World Cafe Hosting Fundamentals course for international cohorts every year since 2010. She occasionally invites special guests - key World Cafe practitioners from around the world with experience in many different sectors - to join the group for individual real-time sessions.
A member of the World Cafe Stewardship Council, Amy is known for her pioneering work in bringing the World Cafe process and principles into an online environment for learning and engagement.
This course is limited to 24 participants for maximum time and attention for each participant. Registrants will participate in an interview with Course Convener Ren Wei before being accepted, in order to ensure there is the best possible match between participant and course.
